DO I REALLY NEED COUNSELING? I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS ON MY OWN, RIGHT?

Research has consistently demonstrated the effectiveness of talk therapy.  Clients frequently tell us their sadness has lessened, along with stress, anxiety, relationship problems, and other difficulties. Having someone else to help you with whatever you are facing can help you feel better, faster.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Each therapy session lasts 50 minutes and are usually once per week. However, we also have clients that meet every other week. Others have met monthly. This is based on need and presenting problems, which is individualized for every client.

WHAT IS THE FIRST SESSION LIKE?

That’s a great question!  Before your first appointment, you’ll be asked to complete the necessary paperwork, just like when you go see a doctor. At your appointment time, we will greet you and make sure you understood what the paperwork said; this should take about five to 10 minutes.  Then we’ll get down to business as to why you’re visiting me.

 Our ultimate goal is to help you feel better – period.  We want to know what you have done to make things better and help you find other solutions, too.  After that, we will decide how often we meet and what your goals will be.

I’M CONCERNED ABOUT PRIVACY. WILL ANYONE KNOW I’M COMING TO SEE YOU, OR WHAT WE TALK ABOUT?

We make every effort to ensure your privacy and confidentiality.  In fact, even if you never pursue counseling with us, but call to inquire, you’re given the same level of privacy as any of our clients.  We hold your right to privacy and confidentiality in the highest regards and take every measure possible to protect it.

WHEN CAN I COME IN?

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

We strive to give you the best counseling experience possible.  To stay current and on top of the latest and best ways to help, we frequently participate in continuing education.  We also consult with others to ensure you get the best care possible.  Our fee ranges from $50-$150 for each 50 minute session. This is based on the type of counseling you are receiving (Ex: individual, couples, etc.). We also have sliding scales available if there are financial concerns. If you have questions about the fee, please feel free to call us anytime.

CAN I USE MY INSURANCE?

Health insurance is important to many people, especially when we have medical concerns.  That said, you may find professional counselors that take insurance for counseling. At this time we do not take insurance for therapy sessions. We are a fee-for-service provider.

Payment:
Cash, check, credit cards, debit cards and Flexible Health Plan or Health Savings Account cards where these may be processed as a credit card are accepted. Payment is due at the time of the appointment.

Absolutely!  Our goal is to help anyone struggling to find wellness and balance in their lives.  Maybe it is stress, depression, anxiety, grief, illness, relational difficulties.  We’re here to help you.
